Here's what previous guests say about Balmaghie Dog Friendly Holidays
Balmaghie dog-friendly holiday lodges, Scottish Borders
'The lodge was great and we had everything that we needed'
“We all had a fantastic time at Bluebell Lodge. Hosts were very welcoming and the lodge was great and we had everything that we needed. Very private and it was great to be able to let the dog out in a safe enclosed space. The private forest was fantastic and loved by my children and the dog. Had the best night sleep in such a quiet and relaxed place, waking up to the sounds of birds. We would love to return. It’s a little paradise and would definitely recommend." Lynne Gilsland, Cumbria, April 2019

'We are happy to finally find a place that caters so well for dogs'
"We enjoyed our stay at Bluebell Lodge and would definitely book again for longer next time. The place was spotless and had every thing we needed. We had a lovely secure garden for our dogs to run around in and sole use of the woods for our walks which they loved. The whole thing is really well thought through and we are happy to finally find a place that caters so well for dogs." Kerry, Scotland, April 2019

'Great little find'
“Great little find if you want to escape it all, spot deer and red kite. Fabulous for dogs!" Diane, Codsall, Staffordshire, January 2019

'Peace of mind that your dogs are safe and secure'
“Would highly recommend staying with your dogs, they and you would love the lodge and the peace of mind that your dogs are safe and secure, loved staying and will be returning hopefully in the summer next year.” Ian, England, October 2018.

'We have just had an amazing stay'
“What an absolute slice of heaven, tucked away with privacy yet everything needed is just a short drive away, an absolute must for all dog loving owners. We have just had an amazing stay in clean and tidy lodge where you can see they have really paid attention to detail with wildlife theme that matches the close by environment! Dogs had the absolute time of their life in the woods where you have sole use and we have really had chance to relax and take in the beautiful local scenery, with walks past stags and deer in a local field, horses in another, kites flying over head all against a back drop of beautiful landscapes and amazing sunsets. Have already booked our next visit! Thank you Amanda and Kathryn for sharing your little piece of heaven with us all.” Tracy, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

'Such a magical place'
“Our 6 spaniel family have just returned from a week in paradise. On arrival we were met by lovely hosts and a spotless clean lodge. Lovely comfort, high quality bedding and everything to make our stay great. Fresh milk, eggs and doggie treats. All very well organised. The woods are for your sole use and such a magical place. In a week, I don't think we walked the same path. The stream was lovely for the doggies to have a paddle. Wild flowers springing up. There’s lot's to do and see in the area. Beautiful red kites bird station 4 miles away where you watch them feed. Ospreys nesting 3 miles away. And a lovely town 5 miles away with all you need from fresh bread to quality butchers. I can't wait to go back. What a magical find. I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you ladies for a wonderful holiday. Sharron Allanson, Pickering, North Yorkshire, April 2019

'We could relax knowing the dogs were secure and running free'

'Fabulous place, fantastic hosts'
“Fabulous place, fantastic hosts, if you have dogs then this is the place to visit. So much land to let the dogs run free and the new lodges are fabulous. Went for the weekend on a recommendation and will definitely be going again. Close to lots of fabulous Scottish towns and Kathryn is there for anything you need....even to let the dogs out for a wee if you're away for a few hours." - Julie Webb, Middlesbrough. March 2019.

'A little bit of heaven on earth'
“Balmaghie is a little bit of heaven on earth, Red Kites, deer, tawny owls, bluebells and birdsong, a lovely lodge with everything you could possibly need. The secure garden and sole use of the magical woods means that the dogs can have a good time and I didn't have to worry about the unsociable one, getting in trouble or having any escapees. Amanda and Catherine work really hard to make sure your holiday is the best, I can't wait to go back and neither can Macdui and Calluna.” MacDui Dingle, Manchester.

'Everything you could need and more'
“Really lovely place with everything you could need and more to get away from it and enjoy the peace and quiet. Our 3 reactive dogs were at home and relaxed and loved the off lead walks in the woods.” Aimee Parkinson, Coldstream, Berwickshire.

'Doggie holiday perfection'
“An awesome totally dog-orientated holiday and such friendly dog loving owners. Amanda and Kath were so nice and totally put us at ease and welcomed all 11 of our dogs. The lodge is perfectly situated, peaceful and a good size secure garden for the dogs that we could also drive into. The 15 acre woods for our sole use, were beyond our expectations and again secure once we padlocked the gate behind us. Dogs loved it and we could relax just watching them having fun. We certainly have found our doggie holiday perfection and will be back as often as we can even if just for a short break till the lighter nights again next year. Many thanks ladies. The "G Crew" hounds will be back. Dawn Gilchrist, Edinburgh, September 2018.

'Highly recommend'
“Amazing place lodges have everything you need and are spotless and private woods are totally amazing 6ft deer fencing all round so dogs can run free without any worries.
